Twee in Tweed

yellow1yellow3Working at a university, I often feel like I’m at a tweed appreciation convention. The tweed jacket is to a professor what speedos are to a swimmer, nylon to a cyclist, and a tangerine tan to a real housewife.

Personally, I adore tweed. It evokes a certain thoughtful slowness and warmth that is instantly soothing on a frenetic day. It’s not sexy or overtly sensuous, but quiet, reserved, and perhaps even a little twee.

This tweed two-piece is yet another NAIN purchase. I like the boxy, 60s geometric feel of the ensemble, and since the top is actually a vest, it’s super versatile.

Worn over a white collared sleeveless shirt, you get an ultra-prim appearance. Pairing it with a leather jacket and (un)purposefully messy hair can then lend it some added grit.

So, how do you feel about this university favourite? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe via email or follow Yeon & Bee on Facebook for more updates.
